ITV and Sky have today announced a deal which will bring interactivity to ITV shows on Sky Digital.
The deal, which extends across of the network's digital channels, covers three main areas of development -- programme support, interactive advertising and betting applications.
The first ITV1 programme to get the interactive treatment will be Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, this Saturday (15th). Following along the lines of the interactive service previously available to DTT viewers, the application will allow viewers to play along with the quiz in real-time, with the possibility of winning prizes if successful.
"This is an important deal for ITV that offers significant commercial potential in the long term," said Clive Jones, ITV's joint MD. "ITV will now be able to offer a full range of interactive services to enhance viewers' enjoyment of our programmes and connection to our channels."
