Thistle Technology Group has been awarded the restricted service licence to operate a local TV station in Lanarkshire. Thistle is the existing licence holder.
The Independent Television Commission announced today that three applications had been received for the licence, and Thistle's application had the "most merit".
The licence's four-year term begins from March 29. In its licence advertisement, the ITC said: "The service is to be provided on channel 48, from the existing transmitter site at Black Hill. Coverage can be expected to extend southwards from Airdrie to include much of East Kilbride, Hamilton, Motherwell, Wishaw, Larkhall, Strathaven and rural areas of South Lanarkshire."
