Liquidators of ITV Digital, Grant Thornton, have said that former ITV Digital customers will receive 2p for every £1 owed to them by the company. In the letters going out at the moment it has offered to pay the money to charity (and included a pre-paid reply envelope). Most former subscribers can expect to get between 50p and £2 and due to the small amounts the costs involved in sending the small payments are substantial and so the Liquidator is offering the option of giving the money to charity.
The Liquidator is required to offer the dividend however small it might be even though the costs involved make it uneconomic.
