How to play bid-up.

bid-up.tv is no ordinary television auction. It will give viewers the opportunity to become totally involved in the auction from home, actually dictating events as they happen in a totally dynamic and compulsive way. Viewers take part by phoning a number on screen and following a set of simple instructions to place their bids.

Viewers will easily get to grips with bid-up.tv's auction formats. There are four main types:

Single-Product Rising Price
Only one lot is available for auction and the price rises from a fixed starting price. In this type of auction the lot will be secured by the highest bid for the item when the auction closes.

Multi-Product Rising Price
A specified number of identical items are up for auction (e.g. ten Sony camcorders) and the price rises from a fixed starting price. In this type of auction the lots will be secured by the highest bids for the items when the auction closes.

Single-Product Falling Price
Only one lot is available for auction. In this type of auction the price decreases from its starting price by a fixed amount at specific intervals throughout the auction (e.g 5 every ten seconds). The lot will be secured by the first person to bid making this an exciting game of skill and timing and a real test of nerve.

Multi-Product Falling Price
A specified number of identical items are available for auction. In this type of auction the price decreases from its staring price by a fixed amount at specific intervals throughout the auction. The lots will be secured by the first people to bid until the lots sell out.
