Sky to launch second arts channel

Sky is to launch a second arts channel on October 20.

Sky Arts will be renamed Sky Arts 1 and concentrate on showing "cutting-edge documentaries, cult films, classic concerts and ground-breaking drama". Classical music, opera, dance and fine arts programming will shift to Sky Arts 2.

"With more original content and exclusive commissions than ever before, Sky Arts will offer viewers an unrivalled choice of the best arts on television," the broadcaster said.
