Asian channels Star News and Star Plus will drop their subscription charges from March 1, it was announced today.
Following a deal between the Star Network and Sky, the channels - up until now only available for a £12/mo additional fee - will be available to all viewers with the Family or Lifestyle packs.
“This is fantastic news for our existing UK satellite Asian viewers, offering huge savings and more choice for the entire family across all ages, through the Sky Family Pack," said Suruchi Sthalekar, head of Star marketing in the UK.
"It meets the demands of today’s South Asian audiences, where families want to keep in touch and maintain a strong cultural bond with their roots.”
