CNN confirms launch on Freeview

The channel's block of programming aimed at European audiences will air every night between 9pm and 1am. Allocation of a channel number is pending.
"This move to Freeview is an opportunity to introduce CNN's European primetime programming to a new UK audience, at a time when international awareness and understanding of the global news environment has never been so critical," said Nick Wrenn, the London-based managing editor of CNN International for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. "Certainly if our international web traffic is anything to go by, the UK's appetite for news has never been more acute, and we look forward to providing TV viewers with the international perspective that the big stories of the day demand."
Turner said that Nuts TV is undergoing an "evolution into a dedicated broadband and mobile service", and noted that availability on Freeview would effectively double CNN's current UK household reach.
Among the programmes to be broadcast in the evening slot are World News Europe and The Situation Room from CNN US.
