In addition to major upgrade work being implemented on its email system overnight tonight [more details], the operator has announced plans to upgrade other parts of the network.
From midnight on Tuesday through to 6am on Wednesday February 10, all ntl broadband customers may experience a loss of service "for a few minutes" while load-rebalancing work takes place. ntl warns on its server status page that customers in the Glengormley, Sketty, Cowcaddens, Mansfield, Barnet and Greenford regions will experience longer outages due to network resegmentation work in those areas. A hardware upgrade will take place in Reading, and on a national scale, customers will not be able to make changes to their account during this period due to maintenance work on ntlworld's registration servers.
Overnight on Wednesday from midnight through to 6am on Thursday morning, customers in the Cwmbran and Cheshunt areas will experience a short outage while load-rebalancing takes place.
Overnight on Thursday from midnight through to 6am on Friday morning, customers in Leeds, Cosham, Portsmouth, Watford and Norwich will experience a short outage while hardware in those areas is upgraded.
Overnight on Friday from midnight through to 6am on Saturday morning, all ntl broadband internet customers may experience a short outage while the network is again rebalanced.
