MTVN HD, Sci Fi HD begin sat tests

MTVN HD and Sci Fi HD have commenced test transmissions ahead of their full launch on the Sky electronic programme guide.
According to reports on the Digital Spy forums, MTVN HD is on 11.720 H with service ID 3806 and Sci Fi HD is on 12.324 V with service ID 3874. Both channels are broadcasting in DVB-S2 MPEG4 with a symbol rate of 29500.
MTV Networks International launched a European version of MTVN HD - which mixes content from MTV and Nickelodeon - in September. A launch date for the UK has yet to be confirmed but it is understood that the service will appear in the Sky EPG before the end of the year.
