Price Drop TV to leave Freeview

Price Drop TV will disappear from Freeview early next month, Virgin Media Television has confirmed.
In November, the broadcaster said it was "reviewing its options" after failing to secure an extension to one of its two Freeview slots on multiplex A. One, which currently carries Bid TV, is available for 24 hours a day in England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland but for limited hours in Wales; the second carries Price Drop for 24 hours across the UK.
In a statement, Virgin confirmed that the "Price Drop TV Freeview contract" will expire on January 5 but said that Bid TV would continue to be available on Freeview channel 23.
