Upcoming Australian soaps and drama station Aussie Gold has announced a blanket ban on advertising by non-Australian companies.
"We will only screen Aussie adverts and promote Australian companies and products," director of programming Darren Gray told Digital Spy. "This policy is to enable us to have a totally Australian channel."
As well as soaps and drama, the channel - due to launch in December this year - will also show childrens' drama, miniseries and general entertainment programming.
