Sky is looking at including social web concepts, such as recommending and sharing content, in its product development roadmap.
In addition to products such as three dimensional television, unveiled last December, and video on demand - both of which rely upon the Sky+ HD platform - the pay TV operator is looking at ways to get customers even more "immersed" in content, according to director of strategic product development Gerry O'Sullivan.
He said that the company is examining "how people search for content, content being recommended, content being shared... there's an expectation that customers want that".
