90% ready for next switchover
Most residents in the West Country are ready for the impending digital switchover in the region, according to the Digital TV Group.

Parts of Cornwall, Devon and Plymouth will switch over on August 12, but many residents have already made the change.

Nine out of ten households have digital as their main set, while 67% of all households have upgraded every television set to digital.

Digital UK's South-West regional manager Bill Taylor said: "There are just 100 days to prepare for the biggest event in broadcasting since the introduction of colour. We're urging anyone still watching analogue television to check their options and get set for digital."

The Beacon Hill transmitter, covering south Devon and Torbay, successfully changed last month.
