Published Wednesday, May 6 2009, 12:30 BST | By Matthew Reynolds

At midnight on Wednesday, analogue BBC Two transmissions were permanently switched off for parts of the West Country.
High-power transmitters, which will relay improved digital signals to the region, will require viewers of Freeview, Top Up TV and BT Vision to retune their boxes.
The next stage, taking place on Wednesday, May 20, will see all remaining analogue channels switched off permanently.
The Stockland Hill catchment covers Exeter, Devon, Somerset and Dorset.
Nine out of ten residents in the region are reported to be ready for the switchover.
