Britain's first channel aimed at the Bengali community, Channel S, will launch on December 16.
The channel will playout from its 1.7-acre production base in East London, at which over the August Bank Holiday it will host a pre-launch party. The pre-launch party will allow the channel an opportunity to preview its programming content, which will include documentaries, news, travel and lifestyle shows. This will all be in Sylheti, which is the most widespread of the Bengali dialects spoken in the UK.
The pre-launch party will also include performances from Bollywood and Dallywood artists, and include guest speakers such as the High Commissioner for Bangladesh to the UK - A.H. Mofazzel Karim.
