Security concerns block 4oD on iPhone

Channel 4 is not going to make 4oD programming available on the iPhone until concerns over content security have been addressed, Digital Spy has been told.
The broadcaster's head of online products Richard Davidson-Houston said that while he would like to put 4oD on mobile, it will not be developed until there are more provisions for content security on devices such as the iPhone.
Answering a question posed by Digital Spy forums member Laggy, who pointed to the availability of BBC iPlayer on the iPhone, Davidson-Houston said: "Yeah, there is of course enthusiasm for this. The classic question is about iPhone, because of iPlayer. The problem is that there isn't any security around content on iPhone and there are some well known ways to pinch the content. Our problem is even more acute than anyone else, insofar as we are a publisher/broadcaster and that content often doesn't belong to us. So as much as we would love to put the content on iPhone or indeed anywhere else, we do have to be incredibly careful about security. Until that is better than it is now, we just can't do it."
