No more WMV downloads from 4oD

Forum member DJGM asked whether 4oD would continue providing content in Windows Media format, like BBC iPlayer does, after the broadcaster announced that it was moving 4oD to an all-streaming model.
Channel 4 head of online products Richard Davidson-Houston told Digital Spy: "Downloads in 4oD will go away completely in July. We have been focused on making streams available to as many people as possible, bearing in mind that people with Macs could never use the application before. People using games consoles won't be able to stream the content to their consoles, but never say never. The thing to bear in mind is that we are users too, we'd like that to happen, but as with anything in life, it's a question of prioritisation. Often these comparisons are made with iPlayer, for totally understandable reasons, but it's all about the resources you have to hand."
