ITV's interactive TV service, ITVi, will launch full 24/7 services this week.
"Over the past year we have put place the infrastructure to let ITVi take bolder and more creative steps in 2005," said ITVi controller Jane Marshall. "The money invested in the division demonstrates strong backing from ITV to take commercial interactivity forwards. The consumer launch, this October, of ITVi 24/7 is only the beginning of an exciting future for interactivity on ITV."
Pressing the red button on ITV will take viewers to the new ITVi menu, from which options for various services will be available. The services include betting sites from Littlewoods, GTV Games from Playjam, a mobile phone ringtone shop, Friends Reunited, and a dating service from Koopid.
More programme-specific interactivity is expected to be added to the service shortly.
