Available today, the site's homepage now places more focus on video and photographic content to provide a greater visual impact. Users are also able to customise their news settings, including options for weather, financial, sports and local headlines.
"This is a total re-imagining of CNN.com, and we are extremely excited about unveiling it to the world," said KC Estenson, senior vice president and general manager of CNN.com.
"CNN.com has always been a destination for breaking news but the breadth and depth of the new site will give users a fresh new way to experience CNN's content."
CNN's entertainment offering has further been re-enforced, with the company's reporting units in Los Angeles and New York aligned to boost the quality of its output.
Lifestyle shows The Screening Room, Revealed and My City_My Life will now be presented in a more "visually impactful and stimulating environment". Further content will be drawn from partnerships with People and EW magazines.
Another new collaboration on the site is with debate forum TED Talks, including a variety of video content and editorial material being provided by the not-for-profit organisation to support a "wide range of points of view".
CNN's website will also host TED Talk Tuesdays, featuring video interviews with high-profile individuals such as Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Virgin Group's Sir Richard Branson.
