TfL launches interactive info service

TfL's new service
"London's public transport system carries 9m journeys a day and with TfL's £10bn 5 year Investment Programme expected to boost usage as well as the network's capacity, getting up-to-date travel information to our customers is essential to encouraging more efficient use of the system," said TfL's director of group marketing Chris Townsend. "Interactive TV is an increasingly important part of everyday life and represents a cost-effective new gateway that further strengthens TfL's proposition to provide the latest travel information to our customers, anywhere, anytime. This is a two-year trial with Sky and will be supported by significant joint Marketing Campaigns. We hope this will be the beginning of a long and mutually beneficial partnership between TfL and Sky."
The service will include the TfL Journey Planner, live travel news (with status updates for the Tube, bus, DLR, overground trains and river services), live departure boards (for the Tube, bus, DLR and river) and a licensed taxi/private hire vehicle search system.
