Telewest activates SMS landline service
Published Wednesday, Feb 9 2005, 03:21 GMT | By James Welsh
SMS text messages can now be sent and received using a Telewest landline.
Sending a message over the Telewest network will cost 10p (7p if the subscriber is on the Talk Mobile package) and will require the subscriber to have the Caller Display feature on their phone line, in addition to having a text-enabled phone. Incoming texts are free - and for those with a standard phone, it will be read out by an automated voice instead of being displayed on a text-enabled phone's screen.
