Telewest discontinues FM radio carriage
Published Thursday, Mar 10 2005, 22:02 GMT | By James Welsh
Telewest Broadband has ceased re-transmitting FM radio signals over its cable network in London, according to reports on the Digital Spy forums.
Radio signals were relayed over the cable network and sockets provided in some Telewest areas for the connection of hi-fi systems, the appeal being that FM reception over the cable network was reliable.
However, the service has now been discontinued, probably due to the carriage of many radio stations on the digital cable platform. At present we only have reports that the service is no longer available in London: check this forum thread for updates.
