Apple confirms iPad UK launch on May 28

The tablet computer, which has sold over 1m units since its launch in the US at the start of April, will become available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK on May 28.
Pricing for the WiFi-only models will be £429 (including VAT) for the 16GB version, £499 for the 32GB and £599 for the 64GB.
Versions capable of supporting both WiFi and 3G access will cost £529 (including VAT) for the 16GB, £599 for the 32GB and £699 for the 64GB.
The iPad will be sold through the Apple Store, Apple's retail outlets and selected authorised Apple Resellers. Customers will be able to place pre-orders for the device on Apple's online store from May 10.
Apple plans to release the iPad in Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore in July.
