Product Ventures have released pictures of their design modifications to the set-top-box and remote control that will be used for Telewest's upcoming digital video recorder.
"Modern, smooth lines and form gives the brand a higher level of sophistication and a sleeker image," said Javier Verdura, VP of design at Product Ventures. "For consumers who are design conscious, this set-top box will fit seamlessly with other sophisticated design elements of their home. And the equally-elegant remote control offers both improved functionality and visual allure."
The fascia of Scientific-Atlanta's Explorer 8300DVB has been redesigned with an "pleasing European design sensibility through contemporary form and sexy curves," lending it a "premium image."
The remote control was redesigned to be comfortable, logical and elegant. Product Ventures says that "the remote is designed so that the user's fingers fall perfectly over the navigational buttons, set in the centre of the remote," adding that a lot of attention was paid to "the logical mapping of user buttons."
