Available now for download from the Google Apps Marketplace, the app enables users to remotely activate recordings of programmes to watch at a later date.
The app gives access to Sky's seven-day electronic programme guide for browsing programme listings by time, day or title, with options for setting a single record or series link on the owner's Sky+ or Sky+ HD box via satellite.
Recording requests can be made from outside the UK, but must be set at least 30 minutes before the start of a selected programme. Internet service provider charges may also apply.
"The success of the Sky+ app indicates that there is a real demand for innovative products such as Remote Record, which gives our customers more choice and control to plan their viewing over the TV love when they are on the move and away from home," said Sky Mobile general manager David Gibbs.
The arrival of the Sky+ app on Google Android devices follows its launch on Apple's iPhone in April last year, with the app attracting over a million downloads to date.
