BT has signed more content deals for the IPTV on-demand component of its upcoming IPTV-DTT television offering.
Programming from National Geographic, HIT Entertainment and Nelvana will be available on the service at launch, which is currently scheduled for late summer or early autumn.
The BT service will blend broadcast terrestrial programming from Freeview with on-demand programming delivered by a broadband Internet connection.
"We are building a fantastic entertainment offering for all the family by partnering with the best," said Dan Marks, chief executive of TV Services at BT Retail. "Any service of this kind is only as good as the content it offers, which is why we have swiftly signed these significant entertainment deals. Significantly, our service will be offered nationwide and not restricted to metropolitan areas, and customers will not be required to commit to a monthly subscription."
