A new channel from the Professional Footballers' Association, the 'Footballer's Football Channel', is planning a SkyDigital launch.
According to ESPN Soccernet, the channel, slated to begin at the start of next season, would broadcast from 4pm - 10pm daily on SkyDigital, and possibly digital cable networks.
Clive Walker and Paul Walsh are currently planning programming for the channel, which will include "coaching, fly-on-the-wall documentaries, talk and quiz shows, lifestyle, and behind the scenes coverage at every level of professional football down to the non-league pyramid".
John Warrington, channel producer, said: "We don't want to become a vehicle for party political broadcasts, but if there's an issue that Gordon [Taylor, PFA boss] or others feel strongly about, then it'll be discussed on air.
"But the main point of the channel is to give our audience an inside view of football they won't see anywhere else."
