US broadcaster Bloomberg has launched a new radio application for Apple devices, enabling users to access real-time stock market information and news.

The Bloomberg Radio+ App for iPhone and iPod Touch is designed as a "new way to experience radio using visuals, text, and real-time data".

Available now for free from the App Store, the app allows listeners to view real-time charts, and access the latest market information and news while listening to the business and finance station.

"We look forward to bringing Manhattan's number one radio station to a global audience," said Oke Okaro, the general manager and global head of Bloomberg mobile.

"Now people around the world will have 24/7 access to Bloomberg Radio's market-moving news and analysis on their terms."

As well as accessing live breaking financial and business news, the Bloomberg Radio+ app features a library of on-demand programmes and interviews. This content can be downloaded to enjoy while offline.

Past guests on Bloomberg radio have included former US president Bill Clinton, International Monetary Fund managing director Christine Lagarde and George Soros, the billionaire best known for breaking the Bank of England.

Earlier in the month, business and financial news channel CNBC launched a real-time application for connected TV products and platforms across Europe.
