NTL to adopt Virgin name "in early 2007"
Published Tuesday, Jul 4 2006, 16:03 BST | By James Welsh
NTL, Telewest and Virgin Mobile will switch to a unified Virgin brand in early 2007 "if not earlier," it was announced today.
The confirmation came today as NTL's takeover of Virgin Mobile has now been completed. Shares in Virgin Mobile have been delisted from the London Stock Exchange.
"This is a transformational deal for NTL Telewest and good news for UK consumers," said NTL Telewest CEO Steve Burch. "Virgin Mobile has a justified reputation for being one of the country's most customer-focused companies. This combined with NTL Telewest's portfolio of
competitively-priced, cutting edge products, will create a formidable competitor in the UK's fast changing communications and entertainment industries."
