Sky launches remote recording for Sky+
Published Friday, Jul 7 2006, 03:43 BST | By Neil Wilkes

The service allows users to schedule a programme recording on the move with their mobile phone. After downloading the 'Sky By Mobile' application, the user can navigate the seven-day Sky EPG and select a show to record.
An alternative method of making a recording is via SMS, which requires users to text the programme details - including programme name, channel, time and date - to a dedicated number.
An online version of the service will be rolled out later this summer.
To link a mobile phone to a Sky+ or Sky HD box - up to eight phones can be registered to one box - users must press 'Interactive' on the Sky+ remote, select 'Sky Active', then 'My Sky' and follow the instructions for remote registration.
