Motorola Mobility has officially unveiled its Xoom 2 tablet range.

The Google-owned company confirmed that two iterations of the tablet will arrive in stores in mid-November.

Motorola Xoom 2 and Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition will run the Android 3.2 operating system, rather than Google's new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, powered by dual-core 1.2 GHz processors.

Both models include Gorilla Glass displays, but are set apart by different screen sizes. The Xoom 2 sports a 10.1-inch HD display, while the Xoom 2 Media Edition comes with an 8.2-inch HD display.

The devices are otherwise identical in terms of specs, featuring 1.3 MP front and 5 MP rear HD cameras, 1GB RAM of memory and 16GB storage space. Both are pre-loaded with the MotoCast filesharing software, and Active Sync for work email, contacts and calendar.

Last month, Motorola unveiled the "world's thinnest 4G smartphone" with the launch of the 7.1mm thick Droid Razr.

Prices for the Motorola Xoom 2 and the Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition are yet to be announced. Both tablets are available to preorder through the Carphone Warehouse.
