The app, developed in partnership with BlackBerry maker Research in Motion, has been designed to tailor the brand, design and content of Sky News with the "look and feel" of BlackBerry.
Available to download now for free from BlackBerry App World, the app's key features include the latest breaking domestic and international news headlines in text and video, along with regular video and radio news bulletins and features including the Your Report feature.
The app has been integrated with BlackBerry apps for Facebook and Twitter, along with the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) service, while users can get 'push' real-time notifications of breaking stories to their BlackBerry email inbox.
Sky News Interactive executive producer James Weeks said: "We are delighted with the development of this app and the opportunity to broaden the reach of our journalism.
"With Sky News available on BlackBerry smartphones we now have all bases covered, if you have a smartphone, we have a product for you. "
More than 4.3m people have downloaded the Sky News mobile since it launched in May 2009. The app debuted in the UK on iPhone, but later expanded to Android, Windows Phone and more recently the iPad.
