The STV Player allows consumers to catch up on hundreds of hours of free national and regional content from STV and the ITV Network, including Coronation Street, The X Factor and STV News at Six.
Earlier in the year, STV launched the service on tablets and smartphones running the Google Android operating system, as well as expanding STV Player on to Sony's PS3.
The free mobile app is now available on the iPad and iPhone, featuring options for searching, browsing and streaming available programmes, both new and archive.
STV chief technology officer Alistair Brown said: "It's becoming clear that multi-media consumption is one of the most popular uses of mobile tablet devices, so we're delighted to be making the STV Player available via iPad, alongside the iPhone.
"STV is committed to making its vast amount of content available free of charge anytime, anywhere and with the extension of the Player to iPad and iPhone, we're reaching so many more consumers across multiple platforms."
