NTL 'turns down' £10bn buyout offer

NTL is understood to have turned down a £10bn buyout offer from a private equity group.
The Guardian reports that the cable group - which now counts among its shareholders Sir Richard Branson - has refused a tentative approach from a consortium including Providence Equity, Cinven and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts but has not completely closed the door to any future offers.
