The rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, was at the Consumer Electronics Show this week to promote his new cans - the wireless Sync by 50, the wired Street by 50 and the forthcoming Street by 50 in-ear buds.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times at the event in Las Vegas, the 'In Da Club' star said that the headphones are "an extension of my passion for music".
"I'll spend 30 or 40 minutes when I'm really inspired and have an idea, and the song will be done. And then we'll spend a week making sure it sounds right afterwards," said 50 Cent.
"Then to have it go out to the general public and them listen to it on things that don't actually allow them to hear it with the same qualities - not so cool.
"So I want to try to be a part of [how] they consume it the right way. And maybe they'll feel like I'm as good as I think I am, when they hear it that way."

The Sync headphones are already available in the US after a soft launch at Christmas. Priced at $400 (£261), the cans are claimed to deliver "crystal-clear wireless sound" up to 500 feet away from the source.
Professionally-tuned, the product features 40mm drivers, 16-bit loss-less digital sound and controls for bass boost and volume control.
Also available in America is the wired Street by 50 headphones, featuring soft memory foam cushions, passive noise cancellation and professional studio sound with enhanced bass. They are priced at $300 a pair.
The range will be joined soon by the Street ear-buds, which have a professionally tuned 11mm driver and an ergonomic design, as well as flat wires that are claimed to reduce tangling. They will cost $130.
50 Cent is the latest celebrity to create their own line of headphones, following the success of the Beats by Dr Dre venture. The rap mogul sold his 51% share in the headphones company for £191 million last August.
However, Beats by Dr Dre was criticised this week by animal rights charity PETA after it released a new pair of special edition headphones lined with real animal fur.
In an open letter to Dr Dre, PETA representative Michelle Cho said: "With so many fashionable, cruelty-free materials available these days, we hope that you will keep animals in mind and choose not to use fur or exotic skins in your collection.
"You have a tremendous amount of influence on young people - won't you please consider using your platform to advocate kindness toward animals by pledging never to design with real fur and exotic skins?"
