Nokia has confirmed the UK release date for its Lumia 710 handset.

The budget-friendly smartphone, which was expected to launch in January, arrives in the territory next month, T3 reports.

The Windows 7.5 phone is billed as a cheaper alternative to the Nokia Lumia 800. It measures in a 3.7 inch, packing a 1.4 GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and an LED flash-equipped 5 mexapixel camera.

"The colourful and affordable Nokia Lumia 710 is a no-nonsense smartphone that brings the Lumia experience to more people around the world," said Nokia.

Nokia announced that it sold 1 million units of the Lumia 800 during Q4 2011, doubling analysts' estimates. The device is available now from mobile operators, including Carphone Warehouse, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone and Phones4U.

The Nokia Lumia 710 will be available in six different colours in the UK from February 1.
