Google's Chrome browser is now available for Android devices.
The internet software has launched in public beta for smartphones and tablets running the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
Chrome for Android syncs with the user's desktop edition to bring their tabs and settings to portable devices. Browsing history will also be carried over and fast-search functionality incorporated.

Google confirmed that gesture-based browsing will let users navigate their tabs "like a pack of cards". A feature called Link Preview will help reduce the possibility of selection errors associated with reduced screen size by zooming in on links.
"Chrome for Android Beta is focused on speed and simplicity, but it also features seamless sign-in and sync so you can take your personalised web browsing experience with you wherever you go, across devices," read a statement from Google.
Chrome is now available in Beta from Android Market as a free download.
