The iCade gadget that transformed the iPad into an arcade gaming cabinet last year has now been extended to the iPhone and iPod Touch.
ION has produced the iCade Jr, which is designed as a "pint-sized arcade powerhouse" that is compatible with various iPhone and iPod Touch models.

The mini-arcade cabinet has a joystick and four front buttons, along with four rear trigger buttons for a "novelty gaming experience like no other".
Users simply slot their iPhone or iPod into the device, which then connects up via Bluetooth, enabling them to play 100 classic Atari games, including Asteroids, Centipede and Battlezone.
All the games are available as an in-app purchase by downloading the free Atari Greatest Hits app. ION said that other apps can also be easily updated to work with iCade Jr.
The gadget has a pass-through slot that allows the iPhone or iPod to be charged while games are still being played.
Pricing and availability for the iCade Jr have not been announced.
