Vodafone launches mobile phone for seniors

Vodafone has launched a new feature-phone aimed at senior users, featuring an SOS button that can provide peace of mind for loved ones.
The new Vodafone 155 handset is designed to be as easy to use as possible, including a large uncluttered display and big buttons.

Other features have been included for the hard of hearing, such as hearing aid compatibility, high volume ringtones and noise cancellation technology.
When the emergency SOS button on the rear of the phone is held down for a number of seconds, the phone emits a loud alert sound and sends out a 'help' text message to four designated SOS contacts. The phone will also automatically attempt to call the people via hands-free.
Vodafone noted that reliability and practicality are "crucial" for older users, and so the 155 is claimed to have a standby time of at least 29 days, and a talk time of up to 600 minutes.
The Vodafone 155 is available now at selected Vodafone shops and online, priced at £25 on Pay As You Go price plans. The phone includes a desktop charger and loudspeaker.
