Samsung Electronics has today announced the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), an Android Ice Cream Sandwich-powered tablet boasting a range of new features.
The Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), the first new tablet announced by Samsung in 2012, has a 1GHz dual core processor, seven-inch screen and comes in 3G or WiFi versions.

It runs the latest Android 4.0 operating system, delivering faster performance and response times across multiple applications, along with greater integration of Google applications, such as social network Google+ and the Face Unlock security tool.
The tablet will support a range of multimedia applications, including the brand new Samsung Video Hub, which offers more than 1,000 films to purchase and rent.
Samsung has upgraded its Touchwiz user interface to feature Hub widgets, while new service S Suggest offers real-time recommendations of apps suited to customers' tastes.
AllShare Play allows users to play or live-stream multimedia content on their Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) from PCs, other Samsung smart devices, and third-party web storage systems.
Samsung's ChatOn platform is available on the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), and the device comes with built-in communication capabilities specifically designed for multi-party video calls via Google+ hangouts.
"We have actively worked to enhance and extend our tablet offering since the launch of the original Galaxy Tab 18 months ago, to put us in the position we are in today of being able to offer our customers a portfolio of devices of varying sizes relative to their different needs," said Samsung's Simon Stanford.
"We are delighted to be offering our customers even more choice with our latest tablet which is our first to feature Android 4.0."
Pricing and availability for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) have not yet been announced.
