Created by Leicester City footballer Neil Danns, Spitter2 is a free app that enables users to share voice messages with friends and followers.
Taking heavy inspiration from the likes of Twitter, WhatsApp and walkie-talkie service Voxer, users create a profile and then follow others users, whether they may be family, friends or celebrities.
They can then share voice messages and comments, as well as keep up to date with public news feeds featuring activities and announcements. The app will have various features, such as 'Spitter of the week', celebrity spitters and direct messaging.
Created by Zombie Boys, the app is said to have already signed up various celebrities, footballers and TV stars, including Wright.
"Whether it's an international music artist announcing dates for their latest tour or a football star announcing his latest deal, Spitter2 allows users to interact with one another in an immediate and personal way," said the app's launch press release.
Spitter2 is available to download now from the Apple app store, and will be released on BlackBerry and Android in March.
Danns said: "Spitter2 provides users with a more personal platform through which they can connect with friends, their favourite celebrities and even their idols.
"Initial interest in the app has been overwhelming and we've very excited for the app to launch on BlackBerry and Android next month."
