Orange has said that it has resolved issues causing a disruption to its 3G data services.

Customers around the UK began to report connectivity issues around midday today (March 8), though all were able to make calls and text.

A spokesperson for the carrier acknowledged that an outage occurred, but confirmed that the issues behind it have now been rectified. The firm is expected to provide an explanation for the disruption soon.

Everything Everywhere, Orange's parent company, issued a statement saying that customers on its other network T-Mobile were not affected.

Elsewhere, Everything Everywhere is carrying out the UK's first ever live customer trial of next-generation 4G mobile broadband.

Orange celebrated the tenth anniversary of its portfolio of own-branded devices last month with the release of a new Android smartphone pre-loaded with content.
