Samsung has confirmed plans to refresh its Galaxy Player range with two new devices.
The iPod Touch rival will be released in 3.6-inch and 4.2-inch models, both featuring the Android Gingerbread operating system and a TouchWiz interface.
Samsung's Galaxy Player 4.2 includes a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor, a two-megapixel rear-mounted camera and VGA front-facing snapper. It offers 8GB of internal storage, which can be upped to 32GB through SD support.
The device boasts a screen resolution of 800x480p and includes front-facing speakers, allowing music playback while the device is laid flat. Bluetooth 3.0 support enables users to link up with external audio equipment.
Galaxy Player 4.2 comes preloaded with three games - Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, FIFA 12 and the ad-free edition of Angry Birds.
The Samsung Galaxy Player 3.6 features the same hardware specs with a lower resolution of 480x320p and a budget-friendly price tag.
The Galaxy Player 3.6 is available now in the US for $149.99 (£94), while the Galaxy Player 4.2 will be released in May for $199.99 (£125). UK pricing and launch date are yet to be confirmed.
