The Eurosport Player application is available now from VIERA Connect, Panasonic Smart VIERA's cloud-based connected TV platform.
The launch of the app is timed to coincide with the start of the French Open tennis Grand Slam, enabling fans to watch select live action from up to seven different courts at Roland Garros in Paris.
This year marks the first time that Eurosport's 3D coverage of the French Open, produced in partnership with Panasonic, is available live to homes via the Sky and Virgin Media platforms.
The Eurosport Player app on Panasonic operates as a subscription service and will be pre-installed on all 2012 Smart VIERA models. It is also compatible with all VIERA TV models from 2010 onwards.
Pay subscribers to the Smart VIERA app will get access to live streaming from Eurosport and Eurosport 2, along with bonus channel content from other sporting events, such as snooker, World Superbikes and wintersports.
This summer, Smart VIERA customers who subscribe to the Eurosport Player app will also be able to enjoy Eurosport's coverage of the Tour de France and the London 2012 Olympic Games, the latter event covered alongside host broadcaster the BBC.
Panasonic Marketing Europe director of the TV group, Fabien Roth, said that the app "showcases the possibilities of Smart TV, providing great interactive and personalised experiences".
"For Roland Garros, subscribers can now choose the courts they would like to watch the match on - putting them in the director's chair," said Roth.
"With the Eurosport Player we are further strengthening our VIERA Connect eco-system of innovative and benefit-oriented applications.
"It supports our Smart VIERA strategy to provide easy-to-use networking functionality, allowing the user to enjoy interactive functionality that goes far beyond traditional broadcast experiences."
Eurosport's new media director Arnaud Maillard added: "Eurosport continues to develop innovative ways for sports fans to access its great content.
"This launch with Panasonic opens up new opportunities for fans to experience our Eurosport Player service which is at the forefront of our multi-screen offer.
"It is timely that the first event to be accessible is Roland Garros, which really complements the Eurosport Player's multi-court coverage offer."
Also today, Eurosport introduced its British Eurosport channel to Sky Go, the multiplatform service allowing Sky customers to access live and on-demand TV on multiple devices.
