The mobile operating system upgrade is available to all Xperia Mini Pro owners, although there could be delays for handsets locked to particular mobile phone networks.
Anyone who can get Ice Cream Sandwich should visit Sony's companion PC tool by connecting their device and checking for updates, says The Inquirer.
As the Sony Xperia Mini Pro only has a 1Ghz processor and 400MB of RAM, it is likely to offer a scaled-down version of the full Ice Cream Sandwich experience.
But the OS bump will be welcome news to owners of the handset, particularly considering the Android 4.0 update was recently cancelled for the more powerful Xperia Play.
In a blog post at the time, Sony said that the Play's gaming focus meant that stability and consistency concerns were behind its decision to rule out Ice Cream Sandwich.
But Sony has said that the Ice Cream Sandwich update will come to the Xperia Mini, Xperia Active and Live with Walkman handsets "soon".
