Samsung has today announced the WB100, a new 16-megapixel camera featuring a high zoom bridge.

The camera has a 26x Optical High Zoom lens and 22.3mm ultra wide-angle lens, which Samsung claims will "ensure flawless detail".

Shaky shots are automatically altered with the camera's Dual Image Stabilisation (OIS + DIS) function.

Along with packing a 16-megapixel sensor, the WB100 can capture HD video at 720p with a 30fps frame rate. It can also take 3D photos and live 3D panoramas.

The camera has a sensitivity run of ISO 80 - 1600, but this can be increased to 3200 when you shoot at lower resolutions.

Users can access a range of creative features, such as Smart Filter and Magic Frame, that can be used to enhance or alter the image quality.

The WB100 has been designed with a soft hand grip and metallic design, while the menus are said to be easy to navigate.

It also appears that Samsung is aiming the camera at travellers, as it runs on AA batteries rather than a lithium-ion pack.

"Combining high image performance, creative functionality and style, the WB100 is the ideal camera for those looking to capture their world in perfect detail," said Samsung.

The Korean firm has not yet announced pricing or availability for the camera, but has said that it will come in either black or red.
