Sony unveils Android 4.0 Walkman

By
Sony has unveiled its new line of Walkman devices, including one with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich support.

The flagship F800 model spearheads the range, featuring Google's latest operating system and FLAC support to reduce file sizes to a fraction of their original capacity.

Sony's F800 Walkman offers full access to the Google Play store, is Bluetooth- and WiFi-ready, and comes with 8GB, 16GB or 32GB of internal storage on board.

The other models are more compact, with lower specs and price points. The S770BT comes with wireless in-ear Bluetooth headphones, and the E570 offers high-quality noise resistance through its built-in tech.

The E470 is available in six different colours and comes with entertainment content preloaded, such as games and a karaoke application.

Available in Europe today (July 19), Sony's new Walkman line is backed by the Sony Music Unlimited platform, but users can drag and drop DRM-free content from third-party services such as iTunes and Windows Media Player.
