A new software update has prevented users from searching contacts, apps and other installed software using Google technology, Android Central reports.
Apple accused Samsung of infringing its patent for a single search interface, which it filed when Siri was launched with the release of the iPhone 4S.
The Cupertino-based company had already enforced a temporary sales ban on Samsung's Galaxy Nexus handset in the US, but the dispute will be reviewed by a Washington court on August 20.
The American judge's verdict will not apply to the Galaxy S3 models sold in the UK and other overseas territories.
Apple and Samsung agreed to hold peace talks to resolve the increasingly bitter patent dispute between the companies, but they ended in deadlock, with the iPhone maker claiming it is entitled to $2.525 billion (£1.63bn) in damages over allegations its rival copied its designs.
The companies are due back in court in the US on Monday (July 30) when a judge will hear patent complaints filed by both parties.
