STAR News and STAR Plus have launched as premium channels to Active Digital customers.
The launch has been marked by a free-to-air promotion until 3 December, giving customers the opportunity to sample the channels, which have up until now been available via Sky Digital only.
Andrew Shaw, Telewest’s director of content acquisition and business development, said: “This is great news for our customers who can now see the best of Bollywood via broadband cable. This is all about developing more exciting content to meet the needs of our diverse customer base, and enhance choice and value. We’re pleased to be one of the first digital TV providers in the UK to offer STAR’s unique channels.???
Lisa Srao, vice president of business operations in the UK for STAR, added: “I am delighted that we are able to expand our service to Telewest digital customers so soon after our launch in the UK. It is an acknowledgement of the demand for our channels and the potential new market that we will generate for Telewest.???
