MySpace has showcased its new look with a preview video ahead of its forthcoming relaunch.
New owners Specific Media are revamping the social network in collaboration with Justin Timberlake after acquiring it from Newscorp for $35 million (£21.5m) two years ago.
The new look centres around a horizontal layout similar to Pinterest, with a navigation panel for controlling audio content. Photo albums can be paired with playlists and integration with rival networks Facebook and Twitter has been incorporated.
It's an entertainment-centric service that has been rebuilt "entirely from scratch". The artists pages have been overhauled and will play host to tracks, albums and videos. It is yet to be confirmed whether MySpace has deals in place to stream licensed content.
"We're hard at work building the new Myspace, entirely from scratch. But we're staying true to our roots in one important way - empowering people to express themselves however they want," read a statement from MySpace.
"So whether you're a musician, photographer, filmmaker, designer or just a dedicated fan, we'd love for you to be a part of our brand new community."
The teaser video has already gained traction in the mainstream media, with The Independent writer Grace Dent and The Financial Times' Tim Bradshaw reporting on the revamp.
"MySpace has relaunched. It looks amazing. I'm so confused," Dent wrote on Twitter.
The video ends with a call for viewers to sign up for an invite for the new service, suggesting that a beta launch is imminent.
